Round Java Island -- Day 3

6.00am -- It drizzled again in the morning.
The owner's jeeps.
7.00am -- Before bidding farewell to the owner of Duta House, asked him directions for our onwards journey. A friendly, sporty and good-looking guy he is.
Scenery along the way to Dieng Volcanic Complex, also called Dieng Plataeu, is a complex volcano. Our highlight for today.

A complex volcano is an extensive assemblage of spatially, temporally and genetically related major and minor volcanic centers with the associated lava flows and pyroclastic rocks. ( Don't ask me for details, I copied this.) Dieng is situated around 2000m above sea level and 100km away from Borobudur.

The name Dieng means "abode of gods". We can find restated temples build around year 800, colorful lakes and steaming crater. Terrace farms are everywhere along the way up to the plateau.

Have you ever seen a bubbling lake?
It's really bubbling.
Playing with the bubbles. Don't worry, they are not hot.
A tree kneeling in the middle of the path.
Like a piece of jade floating on the lake.
I regretted didn't buy one for myself.
Second stop at a crater.
Getting nearer, sulphurous fumes can really choke.
Also bubbling, but this one is steaming hot.
Third stop at Dieng Theater where we viewed a documentary film on the history of Dieng.
It's about noon and we were all hungry and feeling cold. Hot potato wedges never tasted so good before.

It's 2.30pm in the afternoon. Way passed our lunch time and it's raining cats and dogs. Most shops were closed on this Christmas day. We're feeling cold and really hungry now. How I wish I could have something hot to eat like a bowl of noodles?
Just when I was thinking of noodles, we passed by a shop with lots of people queueing outside in the rain. This one ought to be good! Our instinct told us.
You can never believe our luck ! This shop sells beef satay and noodles with generous portion of veggie.
We had to order a second round.
Worth take a note of this stall.

3.30pm -- After a satisfying lunch, follow the shortcut recommended by the owner of Duta House to Borobudur.

4.45 -- Reached Borobudur in slightly more than an hour.

There is only one hotel in the park where Borobudur is and it's fully booked long before we started our Jawa trip. I couldn't believe how Lady Luck has been smiling to me throughout this whole journey. Due to some technical reason, there is just one room vacant, as if it has been reserved specially for me!!

At Manohara Hotel.

My room is behind this pretty little garden.
